The Pitter Patter Ranch is five miles north of Childress in the Union Flat community located in the extreme southeastern Texas Panhandle.  We have raised goats for the last seventeen years.  Our original idea was to avoid the use of herbicides to improve our pasture.  We accomplished that goal.

We introduced percentage Boer bucks to our commercial does in 1996.  The results were dramatic.  The range raised wethers were heavy and hardy which resulted in a better year-end profit margin.

We will have several show goat prospects available for sale after June 15.  All will be current on their immunizations, de-worming schedule and have been disbudded. 

Current pictures can be furnished as requested.  These wethers will be 13/16 or better Boer-cross  this year.

We decided in 1998 to purchase fullblood Boer bucks.  We used various bloodlines including “Doe Maker”, “KD Hercules”  from Don Smith’s line, “Cactus Jack” from Jack and Anita Mauldin, “Top Gun” and “Red Neck Rambo”.  As each year’s doelings were evaluated and culled - a new buck was purchased to complement the conformation they had developed.

This past year brought us back to Cyndi Underwood’s Tarzan Diamante in an effort to increase the length of loin and the depth of the twist on the various cross-bred does.  Our present goal is to strive for excellence in producing a hardy range-raised show goat prospect for serious 4H and FFA students who want the genetics to win shows.
